Vintage CBC Thunderbolt Logo Raglan Baseball Shirt
Celebrate Canada's broadcasting history with a touch of nostalgia in this CBC jersey!
The very first CBC logo features a stylized map of Canada (Newfoundland, from 1940-1949) framed by lightning bolts, symbolic of radio waves and the unification the public broadcaster would bring. Designed by contest-winner, Hortense Binette, a student from Montréals École des Beaux Arts, the foundational emblem was in use from its creation in 1940, until it was replaced with Jean-Paul Boileaus CBC/Radio-Canada Retro Map Logo in 1958.
